How it works
A Roster is a board where you spread Players across columns — by Position, by rotation, by recruitment scenario. You find your Rosters through Rosters in the navigation bar.
A Roster is made of three elements:
- Players, added from your Player pages;
- columns (e.g. Starters, Rotation, Bench), where you place those Players;
- views, each offering its own split into columns of the same group of Players.
The board works by drag and drop: you move a Player from the Player pool into a column, or from one column to another.
Pro section only
Rosters live in the Pro section. There is no equivalent in the Youth section, and the Rosters link only appears in the navigation bar if you have a Pro role.
You can, however, place Youth Players in a Pro Roster — useful to test moving a young player up into the professional group. The board's totals then tell Pro Players and Youth Players apart.
Who can create a Roster?
Any member with access to the Pro section, including a Pro viewer.
This is an exception to the usual rule: everywhere else in the application, a viewer cannot create anything. A Roster is a personal workspace — you are the owner of the ones you create, and rights then depend on ownership and sharing, not on your role:
- the owner can do everything (edit, share, archive, delete);
- a person with a write share can edit the content;
- a person with a read share (or a public Roster) can only view it.
Creating a Roster
- Open Rosters in the navigation bar, then New roster.
- Give it a name (e.g. "2026 first team") and an optional description.
- Turn on minutes tracking and the salary cap if you need them — see Players, minutes & salaries.
- Save.
The Roster is created with two ready-made views: Positions (PG, SG, SF, PF, C) and Rotation (Starters, Rotation, Bench). You can rename them, empty them or replace them.
One view = one split
A view is a way of organizing your Roster: you decide the split and the name of each column. Nothing is imposed, everything is customizable:
- by position (1 to 5: point guard, shooting guard, small forward, power forward, center);
- by position group (Guards / Wings / Bigs);
- by rotation (Starters, Rotation, Bench);
- or by your own logic — contract status, recruitment priority, season scenario…
Views share the same group of Players but each has its own columns and its own assignments. So you can look at the same Roster from several angles without ever re-entering anything.
In practice: a Player placed in "Starters" in the Rotation view can be placed in "PG" in the Positions view. You switch from one view to the other with the tabs at the top of the board.
Warning
The thing that surprises people most: a Player added to the Roster is not assigned to any column in the other views. So they still appear in the Player pool when you change tab. That is normal — assignment is done view by view.
Limits
- 3 views maximum per Roster;
- 6 columns maximum per view.
Beyond that, the add button returns a message ("Maximum 3 views per roster"). To make room, delete a view or a column you no longer need.
Managing views
- Add — the New view button, give it a name (e.g. "Rotation").
- Rename — open the view then edit it.
- Delete — the view disappears with its columns and its assignments. The Players themselves stay in the Roster: they simply reappear in the pool of the other views.
Managing columns
- Add — the Add column button, give it a name (e.g. "Starters").
- Reorder — drag the columns to change their order.
- Delete — the Players it held go back to the pool of the view. No Player is removed from the Roster.
Each column shows its own totals (number of Players, minutes, salaries) when those options are turned on.
